Bright spot
Author Brian Skerry and I put this entire book together in about 4 weeks over a series of zoom meetings at the height of the Covid pandemic. It was amazing to hear the stories behind the groundbreaking shots Brian had captured, including several rare behaviors like Belugas playing with rocks, orcas stealing from the nets of fishing vessels, and dolphins adorning themselves with leaves and seaweed. This was my last full project as the creative director at National Geographic and it will be forever linked in my mind as a bright spot in a dark time.
