Rarest of the rare
I can’t tell you how many arguments amongst the internal team this book spawned: over what constituted “rare”; over what constituted “life”; over whether or not the cover was cool, hideous, or preposterously phallic. (In my mind, it’s all three.) But it’s also why I now know about sundogs, that mud can boil, that there are crystals the size of trees inside underground caverns in Mexico, and that a scrap metal dealer found one of the lost imperial Fabergé eggs at a flea market.
