I picked this project up from another designer 3 weeks before the proofing deadline. I was given 24 hours to create the sample pages, so I slept at the office and had them ready the next morning. Photo editor Adrian Coakley and I spent the next three weeks in a panicked huddle putting together the layouts, which are arranged both thematically and chronologically. In the hours we weren’t making small, painstaking changes to the image selections and layouts, I went through over 150 cover designs and image options before the many, many stakeholders chose this critically endangered rhino as the face of the collection.
